Funding Opportunity for Journalists to Explore "Intellectual Humility"

An open notebook with blank pages sits at the center of intersecting colored paths representing different perspectives.

Funding Opportunity for Journalists to Explore "Intellectual Humility" is a livestream webinar on March 3, 2022, at 12:00 PM; location and city are TBA. Amid intense social polarization, intellectual humility—recognizing that one’s beliefs might be inaccurate—offers an alternative to dismissing other views, encouraging openness to diverse perspectives, greater understanding and cooperation. Jason Marsh, executive director of UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center (GGSC), will briefly explain its new $5,000–$50,000 grants for journalists and other media producers to report and produce stories on intellectual humility drawing on cutting-edge research; Marsh is also founding editor in chief of the award-winning Greater Good magazine, which engages 1 million readers monthly, and founding producer of The Science of Happiness course and podcast, which have reached millions worldwide.
