From the Field: Photojournalism Basics - Doing More with Resources You Have is a Professional Development event on July 28, 2022, at 2:00 PM; location and city are TBA. Even with limited resources, journalism nonprofits can use thoughtful visual journalism for profound editorial impact and audience engagement—the most efficient, visceral way for communities to see they’re seen—whether through staff without formal visual journalism training or experience or independent visual journalists, yet an informed process is often left out of the discussion for various reasons. Scott Lewis—award-winning photojournalist, photo editor, consultant, and Creative Director of the Center for Collaborative Investigative Journalism (CCIJ)—will offer insight and actionable approaches to empower current staff to do more with available resources and provide a foundation for working with freelancers to take visual journalism to the next level.
