How INN and RCFP are working together to protect journalists

How INN and RCFP are working together to protect journalists is a livestream webinar on October 30, 2024, at 2:00 PM; location and city are TBA. The U.S. Department of Justice recently released a first-of-its-kind report outlining best practices for police-press interactions at protests, cautioning that legal protections do not depend on journalists having a credential while emphasizing that a press badge helps law enforcement identify news media members during chaotic demonstrations. The Institute for Nonprofit News and the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press are launching a program providing free access to photo IDs for journalists in INN newsrooms; register for the webinar to learn more about the credentialing program and the DOJ’s groundbreaking report.
