INN + ProJourn by RCFP: Audit your newsrooms legal readiness — April 10, 2025, 2:00 PM; location TBA; format: Fundraiser. Connect with ProJourn’s legal resources at this info session: attorneys will share strategies to reduce nonprofit newsrooms’ exposure to legal action and government investigation, covering tax management, fundraising regulations, editorial decisions and 501(c)(3) status, and resources from the Reporters Committee, ProJourn and others. Responding to legal concerns in a changing political landscape, ProJourn’s Legal Checkup Clinics assess news organizations’ legal health using a checklist developed with Davis Wright Tremaine’s support covering business models, governance, fundraising guidelines, media liability, intellectual property and privacy; register for the info session, then sign up for limited-space clinics pairing nonprofit newsrooms with attorneys: Session 1: April 15; Session 2: May 8; Session 3: June 12; Session 4: July 15.
