Behind the Lens with Taj Devore-Bey

Behind the Lens with Taj Devore-Bey, presented by Video Consortium Philadelphia, is a Professional Development workshop on November 14, 2025, at 6:30 PM at Symphony Studio / 1516 1516 N 5th St, Unit 104, Philadelphia, PA 19122 USA, for filmmakers, cinematographers, documentarians and anyone curious about empathetic, crafted visual storytelling. Spirit, a coming-of-age docu-series executive produced by Stephen Curry and Erick Peyton, follows the George Washington High School Eagles cheerleaders—the first Philadelphia public-school team to compete at Nationals—and their drive, joy, emotional truth and ambition amid an underfunded district. Philadelphia cinematographer and VC member Taj DeVore-Bey explores trust with the Eagles, movement and lighting reflecting their energy on and off the mat, visual-tone challenges and choices, collaborative storytelling, authentic community representation and poetry in documentary realism; guests can park free in the lot across the street.
