Documentary 101 Workshop and Network

Documentary 101 Workshop and Network, a Professional Development event, takes place July 9, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Studio Avery, 502 Avery Street, Deutschstown Historic District, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15212 USA. Pittsburgh filmmaker Bill Holman (WolfGoat Media owner) and Pittsburgh-based Orionvega co-owners Chris Delp (editor/colorist) and Joe Serkoch (commercial, television, and documentary producer) explore the documentary short Spanuth Armada: A Redemption Story from inspiration to final cut: demanding climbing fieldwork, camera rigs, equipment, shooting techniques, editing, sound design, the project timeline, scene structure and refinement, and multicamera color balancing. This interactive, discussion-driven workshop offers beginners and experienced documentarians a rare behind-the-scenes look at physical and creative decisions, collaboration, and fresh perspectives shaping the film, inviting ideas, questions, and applications to attendees’ films.
