Collaborative Conversations: Coproductions with the United Kingdom

· 11:00 AM
Location TBA

Collaborative Conversations is a series of six online workshops with producers and directors across Europe teaching about co-productions and how they vary from country to country. Taking place online from November through 2026, this monthly series will highlight co-productions with France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. Join us for a conversation about the ins and outs of leveraging coproductions with the United Kingdom, led by Reece Cargan and Flore Cosquer. Reece is a BAFTA nominated and RTS award winning producer and founder of production companies ‘Bombito productions’ & ‘Randan’. Reece was selected by Screen International as a Rising Star Scotland. Reece has produced numerous award winning work, most recently he co-produced two features with the Netherlands, Midwinter Break and Where Dragons Live – with support from Screen Scotland and the Netherlands Film Fund. With years of experience in narrative, commercial and documentary production, Flore joined the core team at Scottish Documentary Institute in 2010 and managed the Institute’s various training initiatives and industry events, including the Edinburgh Pitch, also overseeing the production of the flagship filmmaking program Bridging the Gap. She was appointed Director of SDI in September 2022. We will hold an open co-production clinic session during the workshop. Two attendees will have the chance to do a short presentation of their short or feature-length documentary projects in production, for feedback from the speakers. This will be part of the Q&A session and will also be recorded. If you’re interested in presenting your project, please email us at london@videoconsortium.org with an outline of your project and the questions you’d like to ask. We will contact the selected projects ahead of the workshop. This series costs €3/workshop and is open to the public. If prospective participants find the €3 cost prohibitive, we’ll offer fee waivers. Both of our organizations aim to elevate imaginative nonfiction cinema and build community across the industry and we’re delighted to collaborate to produce this series. To request a fee waiver, please email hubs@videoconsortium.org.
